# My employee has left the company but I still seem to be paying for them on the package. Why?

Your former employee's details and data must remain on the payroll database
until the end of the year so that his/her details can be included in your end of
year returns for the HMRC. Therefore he/she is still counted as being one of
your employees for invoicing purposes up until the end of the tax year. After
the end of the tax year he/she will no longer be counted as one of your
employees.
